I will be the first to admit that I slacked off after my race on Dec. 4. I ran "when I could" (read: when I wanted to), which was definitely not three times a week as I did when I was training. Last week I decided to sign up for a 4-miler race held at the same time as the Tar Heel Ten-Miler on April 21 in Chapel Hill. I realized that having the goal is what pushed me to keep exercising.
Today I ran my personal best, which was 5K (3.1 miles) in 30:32 minutes.
I had been feeling discouraged and sluggish in my last few runs, so today really gave me the confidence and momentum to keep going. Now, I just need to figure out a good strategy for getting to 4 miles...
